“Warning, unlawful retention of funds and retaliatory action. Following my late father's transition to hospice care and subsequent passing, Marcus - the manager at The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville - promised a full refund of $3,954.00, but instead my mother was sent a check for a insulting $39.54. When I found out and demanded an accounting audit, local Executive Director Ashton Winfield changed the story, stating via text: 'The amount owed is $1,977.' Immediately after, they weaponized local law enforcement to serve me with a retaliatory verbal trespass warning to ban me from the property and suppress the financial dispute. When I escalated this to corporate, the Director of Risk admitted in writing that an internal investigation verified they actually owed $3,416.78. Corporate initially attempted to withhold the refund unless a restrictive Release and Settlement Agreement was signed containing a confidentiality muzzle to hide their actions. We refused to sign away our rights and turned the documentation over to the state licensing authorities. After facing regulatory exposure, corporate cracked, bypass their contract demands, and sent the check that they owed my mother for two years. Families, please understand: their internal accounting is an absolute shambles at best, or they tried to shortchange their customers with false numbers until compliance was forced. Draw your own conclusions about this facility's current management and ownership's practices.”
